the truth of The Fate and Destiny

fate-and-destiny-article

The religions and ideologies have been divided, regarding the topic “fate”, into four currents:
1- A current which believes in “fate and destiny” and that the Creator knows the unseen. So before our creation, He had predestined for each one the way he would look, his birth, his family, his illnesses and his actions, up to his death; everything is preordained. But this thought is considered blasphemy, for if God had predestined every matter in my life and actions before I was born, then why would He hold me accountable for the actions that He had destined beforehand?!
2- The second current came as a complete antithesis, saying that God knows nothing and we are on earth by a mere cosmic coincidence. So everything happens on earth is purely coincidental, and every person gets according to the way he copes with these coincidences. But this is also blasphemy, for if God does not know everything about His creation, how would He be God then?
3-The third current tried to be intermediate, saying that God’s foreknowledge doesn’t mean that He will interfere in your actions. His foreknowledge of your action doesn’t mean that He is forcing you to do things. This kind of thinking was considered nothing but nonsense, for saying that: “by God’s foreknowledge He knows my actions”, means I am obliged by His foreknowledge and from the beginning of my existence, He gave me, with his prior knowledge, a way to walk it. How can I refuse and confront his mightiness in a way or another? And then how would He be God if He put plans to my life and I disobeyed Him?!
4-The followers of the fourth current believe that the man is obliged in some matters, and free in others. The LORD God gave him the freedom of will regarding his good and bad deeds, for which he will be held accountable, while He obligated him in matters like (the parents, birth, eye colors, tall…etc.) The science has also blown up all these allegations, for man has free choice in everything, he can change his gender, his eye color, and can control the number of embryos; the woman can also control the sex of the fetus and his homeland. The followers of this idea, who tried to deviate in this way, didn’t live in our recent time, that’s why they didn’t expect that science can reach the point where a person can change even the color of his eyes.

What is the truth then?
Are there fate and destiny? Are we obligated in everything and just a game played by a god who has created all of that and destined us all according to books he has preserved and only he knows? Is our only role to implement this game, and will we be held accountable for something that was determined for us in advance? Or are we absolutely free and he doesn’t know anything?
Here we face another dialectic, for how would we worship a lord who doesn’t know anything, and how can he not know when he is a lord?

The Holy Bible will definitely solve this dialectic, for the word “fate” is not mentioned at all in both the Old and New Testaments, it is rather an Islamic term (Al Qada’ and Al Qadar) and neither Christians nor Jews believe in it.
In the Quran, Surah As-Saffat 96 “and Allah Who created you and whatever you do?”
Of course Muslims brag about this verse and many others, which indicate that God knows what we will do. And for the same pride they have and their distinction from Judaism and Christianity that their God has predestined everything, they fall into the trap of this pride. Because of fate and destiny, thousands of Muslims leave the Islam annually, wondering why their God will judge them if everything was predestined, which is unfair.

Islam is not the only religion on earth that believes in fate and destiny many pagan religions had preceded it. In the old Assyrians and Babylonians mythology they had (Anunnaki), the god who decrees the fates of humanity. Also in the old Greek mythology, there is something called (Moirai) which means “the fate”. It is pictured as a goddess weaving the life of people on earth. In the Roman mythology, the fate is called Parcae, and (Norns) in the Scandinavian mythology. The Hindus also still believe that the gods weave the life, fate and actions of people. So the Islamic ideology about the fate and destiny is taken from old pagan mythologies.

Another proof about the corruption and invalidity of this belief:
When you discuss the subject of fate and destiny in Islam, you will find that it is one of its six pillars, and the Muslim is forbidden from doubting the predestination even if he is not convinced. They have 6,000 Islamic approaches fighting among each other about this topic (the Qadariyyah, Jabriyah, Murijite,Ghulat, Ash’ari, and the Maturidi ….etc.) and each one of them depends on verses from Quran and apostatizes one another. Hereupon, the absence of a single one belief in the same religion makes it unfit to be followed, especially since the Muslim sheikhs prevent their followers from discussing the concept of fate and destiny, considering whoever disagrees with them as a defector from Islam.

The Fate and Destiny in the Christian faith:
There is nothing in the Holy Bible that supports the idea of destiny, for predestination makes you obliged while in Christian faith the person has free will.
Starting with Adam, when the LORD God told him: “Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil”, He gave him the choice and Adam should choose. If the LORD God had already known that Adam would disobey Him, eat from the tree and fall, this would mean that poor Adam was the victim of a game prepared in advance for him and, of course, God forbid from this thought.
We also believe that Satan was an angel before his fall, and the thought that the LORD God knew beforehand that Satan would fall and yet He created him, means that God meant to create evil; this way of thinking negates that God is the ultimate good. The biblical truth states that, He gave the angels the freedom of will and one third of them chose to fall into sin. The LORD God tells us in the Holy Bible that we reap what we sow,
Proverbs 22:8 “”He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity”.
Romans 13:3 “do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise”.
Proverbs 6:32 “But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.”
Therefore, what happens with you is not predetermined, but rather as a result of your actions on earth, and which you are absolutely free to choose. The Holy Bible also says that the fools are those who believe in the idea of destiny, and blame the LORD God for the flaws of their actions.
Proverbs 19:3 “The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.”
Also in Galatians 6:7 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
This means that we will not be judged for what He has predestined us, nor according to His foreknowledge of our actions, but we will be held fully accountable for our own actions. This verse sums up the negation of the lie of fate and destiny.
Does our freedom of will negate God’s knowledge of the unseen? Of course not.

I’ll explain how God knows the future and still gives us the choice:
Life on earth is like a maze (the attached picture), we enter from the door (the birth) to face many other doors (many ways and choices). We are at frequent crossroads, we don’t know the way so we choose our owns. As for the LORD God, He is the Maker, the Creator and the One who formed this maze with everything in it, He knows fully its doors, the choices that each door leads us to and the end of that choice. In every single detail in our life, from our childhood till death, we are completely free to choice. You are free in your study, work and marriage, and also in some countries people can even choose their way of death; therefore, the person is absolutely free. It is up to you to obey or disobey the LORD God’s commands, and you can follow the commandments or violate them. Read the verse in Deuteronomy 30, which confirms the idea of the maze. The LORD God says to His people:
“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:”
Also the incident of Judas’ betrayal, it is stated in the Old Testament that someone will betray Christ, so some might wonder: “if that was predetermined, what is Judas fault then?”
God’s prophecies about events must be fulfilled, but He did not write that Judas would betray Him, it was Judas’ choice to be cursed.
Also in the Book of Revelation it is written that at the end of days, some will be sealed on their foreheads and some will suffer plagues and pain but it is not predetermined who would they be. So today you have the choice you could either be from those who will be sealed, or from those who will worship the beast mentioned in the Book of Revelation.
They will unite all the religions in one, and people will worship the god of this religion, that is Satan. You know now what is written for the end of the world, and you are the one who chooses the religion of monotheism under the pretext of achieving world peace, your choice will make you deserve the written curses and plagues of the followers of this religion.
We can also understand that according to what is stated in Philippians 3:
“18- For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
19- Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.”
The prophecy says that the enemies of the Cross of Christ will end up in eternal destruction, and you can simply choose not to be one of them.
I was asked about Peter, when Christ said to him, “Before the cock crow twice, you thou shalt deny me thrice.” Does this mean that Peter was predestined?
Peter received a judgment (a divine order) of what would happen. Just like a judge telling the accused: “Tonight you will be thrown in prison,” no one will be able to change this sentence except by paying a bail. The LORD’s judgments and orders will be fulfilled, unless we pray and stop them.
And here is the second surprise, can anyone stop the LORD God’s orders? Yes, the Holy Bible says we can.
The LORD Jesus said to Peter: “You will deny me,” but Peter could have changed the course of events if he had prayed and repented.

The Holy Bible teaches us in 2 Chronicles 32: “25-But Hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit done unto him; for his heart was lifted up: therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.”
Then comes the second verse in 2 Chronicles 32 “26- Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD came not upon them in the days of Hezekiah.”
Hezekiah has stopped God’s wrath because he humbled himself, changed and prayed, thus the decision was changed. This is not the only story in the Holy Bible, in Isaiah 38 the LORD God Himself gave an order when Hezekiah was sick and near death, He sent him a prophet named Isaiah
“1- In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.”
But when Isaiah left, Hezekiah knelt at his deathbed, turned his face toward the wall, prayed and wept bitterly so the LORD God sent Isaiah again
“5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.”
The LORD God Himself, who commanded his death, retracted His decision and gave Hezekiah fifteen more years to live because He saw his tears and heard his prayer. So where are the predestined and obliged from all of that? And where is God’s foreknowledge?
By His foreknowledge, according to the idea of “Maze” I have presented you, God knows all the details and doors. He knows to where each door leads, our hearts and what we can do, He also knows our thoughts whether evil or good, and where we are going in every path we take. If you go through a door which leads to the lake of fire, our LORD tells you that you will be burned. When you get burned that is not because He led you through it, but rather because you entered through that door which He knows where it goes. If you commit adultery, knowing that the adulterer will be punished with poverty, then you are the one who judged himself with its consequences. Or if you choose the door of killing, knowing that the killer will be killed, you will reap the result of your choice. In the story of Jonah and the people of Nineveh:
When the LORD God sent Jonah to the people of Nineveh, Jonah fled and was swallowed by a big fish, but when he repented and prayed from the belly of the fish, he came out. Then he went to the people of Nineveh and said to them: “You will be destroyed after forty days,” so they all returned to the LORD God, putting on sackcloth, fasting and praying, they even made their animals fast with them, so the LORD forgave them and Daniel’s prophecy on them was not fulfilled. Here, too, we find that by their repenting, the people of Nineveh had changed God’s judgment. The LORD God clearly tells us in the Epistle of James 1:
“13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.”
Here we understand more that man has an absolute free will, and the saying that God afflicts you with evils to tempt you is nothing but a slander against God, because that who tempts with evil, is Satan.

I invite you to watch the episode (the keys of blessings with Maggie Kozam). God has given us the keys to blessings on earth, a key to livelihood, a key to health, a key to childbearing and a key to longevity, thus when we meet the conditions for getting those keys, we’ll get them. The Holy Bible gives us countless examples and all of them support the idea of man’s absolute freedom of will, and negate the idea of fate and destiny. The Virgin could say I am the handmaid of the LORD and accept the announcement of the angel, or she could refuse. Peter could go to Cornelius or he could refuse to go. Ananias could baptize Saul or he could refuse. As there were many prophets and kings in the Old Testament who rejected and disobeyed God, and as there was among the disciples of Christ Judas, whom our LORD has treated as He has treated all the other disciples so He washed his feet like He washed theirs, ate with him at His table as He ate with them, and gave him the power to cast out devils and heal just like the others. He did not treat him differently from them, but rather put him in charge of the bag of the church, yet Judas chose to be the son of curse and perdition.
So be careful people, regardless of what your religion or sect is, if you worship that who predestined you, who knows what you will do beforehand, who fated you with these actions and ordained you to do them and who afflicts you with evils on this earth to tempt you, though he is supposed to know things in advance so why would he tempt you if he already knows you? Be careful because you worship the anti-God, so your fasting, prayers and your toil on earth to eventually get heaven, will be in vain for your worship is originally for the devil who deceived you by saying that his name is “Allah”.
At the end, we always pray and say: “Thank you LORD, for making me free not predestined. You did not oblige me with Your foreknowledge of things. You made me in Your image and after Your likeness. You gave me to be a son with free will, so I would deserve to be an heir of the kingdom with you according to the actions that I have chosen and for following You, which I preferred. I am the free willed, praying and asking You to lead me according to Your Own will.”
When we pray every day saying: “Thy will be done” we know perfectly well that our LORD’s will is the most perfect and the best for us. By choosing our LORD’s will, He will be glorified in our lives, choose for us our ways and open the best doors for us. May the LORD’s blessing be always you.
